Mobile Device Prep
This section of services are to prepare mobile devices centrally at the WNYRIC prior to delivery to the district so they can easily be transitioned for student use. Save your team time and let us do the set up work. This will allow your district staff to do their jobs more efficiently by leaving this prep work to us. Through this WNYRIC service, devices will be prepped in the WNYRIC central installation site prior to delivery to your district. Once delivered, the devices will be ready to deploy to your users. We install the cases and enroll the devices in the district's Mobile Device Management solution. (MDM)
Why would my district use this service?
- A csv file with all target device MAC addresses can be imported into the wireless security system one time. The need to enter MAC addresses from iPads individually will save the district staff precious time.
- This service keeps your project on schedule by virtually eliminating out of the box or dead on delivery issues. All defective iPads will be exchanged by the WNYRIC.
- This service frees your IT staff to focus on other issues or projects.
The district must have a secure wireless network installed in the district.
Provide the WNYRIC with a district designated contact for scheduling of delivery and to receive the necessary files for the district to facilitate the service options. This contact must also coordinate the delivery date of the devices and confirm the arrival and correct count. The contact also needs to provide the WNYRIC with feedback on any issues with the readiness of the devices for immediate use.
Service parameters: The system required for configuration will be procured, received and unboxed. The system will be thoroughly inspected for physical damage or blemishes. The system will be powered on and inspected for hardware and/or software errors. The system will be replaced if the device is determined to be defective or damaged. The system will be tagged with a standard asset tag and, if requested, a district supplied asset tag. The iOS system will be connected to a wireless network for systematic retrieval of MAC addresses. If applicable, the MAC addresses will be delivered to the district designated contact in a csv file. The system will be reboxed and stored in the WNYRIC warehouse until your district is ready for delivery. Systems will be shipped to the district. At the time of disposal, the WNYRIC will pick up and dispose of the devices.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
Staff follows best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.
