Occupational Therapy FTE Equivalents for District-Enrolled Students
Erie 1 BOCES occupational therapist provides occupational therapy on an FTE basis to students enrolled in a non-BOCES educational program. Therapy is based on the student's IEP occupational therapy goals and FTE needs identified by the district.
This is an alternative to purchasing occupational therapy services per session. Occupational therapists provides therapeutic intervention to address, but not limited to, the following skills; fine motor, motor coordination, motor planning, visual perceptual/ visual processing and visual motor. Additional skills addressed may include sensory processing, self-care, self help, self regulation, pre-vocational skills and executive functioning.
District Responsibilities:
- Submit required paperwork for FTE service
- Provide a caseload for the therapist
- Assign a work space for the therapist
- Provide relevant information
- Provide required district forms
- Provide current script
BOCES Responsibilities:
- Assign a FTE of a occupational therapist
- Provide services per the IEP
- Complete all paperwork required by Medicaid
- Provide supervision
- Perform formal evaluation of BOCES staff
- Provide staff development
- Participate in CSE/Annual Review Meetings
- Provide quarterly updates on student progress
- Collect data for progress monitoring
