Physical Therapy FTE Equivalents for District-Enrolled Students
Erie 1 BOCES physical therapist provides physical therapy on an FTE basis to students enrolled in a non-BOCES educational program. Therapy is based on the student's IEP physical therapy goals and FTE needs identified by the district.
This is an alternative to purchasing physical therapy services per session. Physical therapy provides therapeutic intervention to address, but not limited to, the following skills; gross motor, motor coordination, motor planning, body awareness, strengthening, balance, endurance, range of motion and navigation within the school environment. Therapy is based on the student's IEP physical therapy goals and FTE needs identified by the district.
District Responsibilities:
- Submit required paperwork for FTE service
- Provide a caseload for the therapist
- Assign a work space for the therapist
- Provide relevant information
- Provide required district forms
- Provide current script
BOCES Responsibilities:
- Assign a FTE of a physical therapist
- Provide services per the IEP
- Complete all paperwork required by Medicaid
- Provide supervision
- Perform formal evaluation of BOCES staff
- Provide staff development
- Participate in Annual Review meeting
- Provide quarterly updates on student progress
- Collect data for progress monitoring
