Junior Achievement
What is JA
Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 through experimental, hands-on programs that align with our Three Pillars of Entrepreneurship, Work and Career Readiness and Financial Literacy. JA programs ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century.
JA's unique approach utilizes partnerships between local businesses, the community, educators and volunteers from all walks of life who go into the classroom to share their personal experience and business expertise while following an established JA curriculum. JA programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers. Age-appropriate curriculum continues through the middle grades and high school with a focus on entrepreneurship and work readiness. JA helps young people connect with relevant learning, stresses the importance of staying in school and inspires students to develop competitive skills and confidence. JA programs align with New York State Learning Standards and help improve the quality of young people's lives by preparing them for the real world. Their success bolsters the local workforce and contributes to economic growth.
