Online Virtual Learning Environment with Moodle - Tier 1
This service will provided districts with an affordable online learning management solution. This service is tiered based on district need. Please refer to service code 454.410 for full service details.
Districts will be provided the following:
· Access into the Erie 1 BOCES Student Moodle & three days of professional development (initial training). These trainings will be held at the Erie 1 BOCES Education Campus.
· 50 individual Moodle courses for use with students or teachers
· Moodle User Group (MUG) meetings that are held 5 times through the school year
· 3 hours of administrative support from a BOCES coordinator for student uploads, online and offline help as well as technical support
· 10 GB total space for all Moodle Courses
· All software updates/upgrades
· 10 appropriate plug-in recommendations per year
**Moodle users must attend the 30 hour blended course before they are granted access into the Moodle to use a course. The Online Learning with Moodle course will be offered nine (9) times throughout the year at the Erie 1 BOCES Education Campus.
Districts must be in the Distance Education Project Connect Coordination Fee (454.105.30) or Instructional Media Resources Base Service (514.100.10)
Participants will need to have internet access to participate in this service.
- The district will develop a Customized District Staff Development Plan aligned with its Instructional Technology Plan
- The District Coordinator/Contact will coordinate the staff development days/site as identified in the service agreement
- District participants will share information from activities with district nonparticipants
- District determines the method of payments for services and signs participation forms

- The BOCES Staff will meet with the school district planning team to determine instructional technology support needs
- The BOCES Staff, in collaboration with school districts, will select appropriate instructional software applications
- The BOCES Staff will coordinate training activities, staff development activities, planning, and project review
- The BOCES staff will ensure that BOCES retains a high level of expertise for its staff through a commitment to research and development
