Online Virtual Learning Environment - Tier 4 - Year 1
This service will provided districts with an affordable online learning management solution. This service is tiered based on district need. Please refer to service code 454.410 for full service details.
Tier 4
Districts will be provided the following:
· Provides the district with its own Moodle site (separate from Erie 1 BOCES Moodle, and not accessible by other districts)
· Custom theme and an unlimited number of courses
· The site will be hosted on an Erie 1 BOCES server
· Districts will receive five (5) days of professional development for district technology personnel on how to administer the Moodle site (districts will be responsible for all uploads, tracking, and maintenance of the Moodle site's administrative end)
· 50 GB total space for the entire Moodle
· Five (5) days to train technicians on technical aspects
· Five (5) days of professional development on using Moodle
· For a total of fifteen (15) days
· Additional hours of administrator support is available at an additional change (see 454.410.07)
· Teachers who have courses in the Moodle will also be able to attend the Moodle User Group (MUG) meetings.
· All software updates/upgrades to the Moodle are included
· Additional modules/plug-ins will be billed
** Districts choosing this option will have full control and maintenance for the Moodle on the front end. The district will provide all support for their teachers using their courses.
Districts must be in the Distance Education Project Connect Coordination Fee (454.105.30) or Instructional Media Resources Base Service (514.100.10). Participants will need to have internet access to participate in this service.

• The BOCES Staff will meet with the school district planning team to determine instructional technology support needs • The BOCES Staff, in collaboration with school districts, will select appropriate instructional software applications • The BOCES Staff will coordinate training activities, staff development activities, planning, and project review • The BOCES staff will ensure that BOCES retains a high level of expertise for its staff through a commitment to research and development
