Mobile Connectivity Service
This service will enable district access to wireless instructional environments via mobile equipment and 3G data plans.
- Pay the sum of the annual monthly data plan charges upfront for full 10 months. Data plans will be pro-rated if necessary on project depending on start month. If district drops or suspends data plan within that year and if partial plan cost is refunded then refund will be applied to district.
- If district cancels data plan prior to the 10 month point equipment must be returned.
- AUP must be modified to include mobile equipment responsibility by staff or students.
- WNYRIC Model Schools days to be used for instructional support in using equipment in the classroom.
- Follow the E1B inventory procedures as per the TIIP sheet.
- The WNYRIC will furnish the district with the equipment configurations, the equipment cost and the vendor information upon receipt of the signed sample letter.
- The WNYRIC will provide instructions for installation of the 8e6 filtering software on each netbook and antivirus software if necessary. Any handheld device will also be equipped with a filtering mechanism.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
Staff follow best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.
