Library Services Level 1 - Regional Catalog
As per Commissioner’s Regulation §90.18 to loan local library resources to Erie 1 BOCES participating members and to local regional BOCES. These BOCES include Erie 2, Cattaraugus-Allegany, and Orleans-Niagara.
The library collection(s) are exported annually to the regional Union Catalog. The MARC records from automated schools are shared electronically in a regional catalog to support library and WNY School Library Systems' goals for resource sharing and collection development. Copyright laws and/or restrictions must always be abided by districts and nonpublic schools.
Continued training of library staff with focus on interlibrary circulation and policy, OPAC, catalog management, system security, patron maintenance, and reports. Includes online troubleshooting, phone support, software customization requested by library (reports, screen displays) or training on how to use the software and access to regional training sessions and materials. Ongoing focus is integration with instructional program.

The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms. Staff follow best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.
