LAN Technical Support
This service provides technical support. Duties may include troubleshooting, hardware/software installs, configurations, equipment inventory and assignments provided by the district technology coordinator.
Support may include senior level technical support for all district-based servers and network communications, technical specialists based in school districts on a FTE daily basis, and technicians available for installations and special projects. Senior level technical support is also available through LAN Network Consulting, Management and Planning contracts.
Maintain a district LAN.
A designated district technology coordinator to work with WNYRIC staff.
Comply with regional and state standards.
Comply with federal copyright laws.
Provide release time for technical training and regional meetings.
Provide sufficient time for technical staff to accomplish assigned tasks.
Provide qualified/responsible personnel to perform needed functions of daily technical activities for the district's technology department.
Provide necessary training for WNYRIC personnel to keep current with new technology.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research from Gartner and Info Tech that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and piloting on the WNYRIC Network in the areas of; security, infrastructure engineering and design, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity, effective monitoring and pro-active analysis customized for K12 educational environment. By following these principles we are able to be a District advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
