SNAP Health Center is designed for use by school nurses to document student medical data in a secure manner. The vendor offers a hosted solution as well.
SNAP Health Center enables school nurses to track visits, screenings, immunizations and medications, quickly and completely. The software ensures the security of student health-related data, meeting both HIPAA and FERPA regulations. The user-friendly software makes it easy to perform group processing of health related information; run reports, labels and form letters; and refer to the included drug handbook information.

Cloud Solution: PSNI’s data center is a secure, multi-server environment with efficient load balancing, effective firewalls, and resource management. It allows several components to go offline without disrupting customers, resulting in virtually no downtime. PSNI is SSAE (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements) 16 SOC 2 Type II Certified. Not only were our servers audited by an outside third party, but also our business practices, policies, and procedures.

The district agrees to:
- Ensure data security (maintenance of passwords as well as backing up data on magnetic media on a regular basis and storing multiple copies of such media in appropriate places)
- Notify WNYRIC of relevant personnel changes
- Allow remote access to the server and/or workstations to the RIC technician
- Assign the personnel to be trained with the appropriate authorization for security access to the system data for all such staff if needed.
- Create/maintain local (district) tables
- Purchase appropriate hardware and software
WNYRIC agrees to:
- Install the software, if applicable
- Provide documentation
- Provide telephone and on-site support
- Provide a means for purchasing necessary licenses
- Serve as liaison between the district and the vendor
- Maintain strict confidentiality
The WNYRIC utilizes cost-effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
Staff follows best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher, and principal data security and privacy regulations.
