E-Rate Application
Our E-Rate service assists school districts to receive telecommunication, Internet access, and equipment for internal connections through E-Rate funds.
Note: This service is for districts that do not participate in the Shared Telecommunications Service 650.840.02. Districts that do participate 650.840.02 receive E-Rate application support as part of that service.

The District will sign FCC Form 479, CIPA Certification (Children's Internet Protection Act).
The District will prepare a Technology Plan that will be approved by the NYS Education Department.
The District will select an appropriate contact person to assist with the filing of the E-Rate application.
The District will attend educational seminars conducted by WNYRIC and designed to help the district understand the E-Rate requirements and the district's responsibility in the process.
The District will provide WNYRIC with information to complete the E-Rate forms and the attachments needed to substantiate the requested amounts.
The Districts will provide data to satisfy the review process, if necessary.
The WNYRIC will conduct instructional workshops for the districts.
The WNYRIC will supply forms and information.
The WNYRIC will gather the data to complete the forms.
The WNYRIC will file Forms 470 and Form 471 with the SLD.
The WNYRIC will act as liaison with the SLD.
The WNYRIC will review the Funding Commitment Decision Letters.
The WNYRIC will assist in filing Forms 486 and Form 472.
The WNYRIC will file appeals.
The WNYRIC will reimburse eligible items purchased through WNYRIC services.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research from Gartner and Info Tech that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and piloting on the WNYRIC Network in the areas of; security, infrastructure engineering and design, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity, effective monitoring and pro-active analysis customized for the K-12 educational environment. By following these principles we are able to be a District advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.

A representative will be available from 4:30 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. to assist you with calls regarding emergency situations. During all other hours and holidays, a caller will receive important information regarding coverage.
