MiddleTech Academy
This full day program is geared toward youth in grades 7 and 8 who are deemed to be at-risk socially or academically. This non-traditional program gives students an opportunity to collaborate with classmates through hands-on learning experiences. Academic instruction includes ELA, science, social studies, and mathematics, all of which are taught in a flexible schedule through the guidance of innovative teachers. Social skills training, positive work attitudes, and behavioral supports are also taught in this innovative program.
Specials areas such as art, physical education, technology, family and consumer science will be included as well. Students will participate in some of these classes at the Potter Career & Technical Center and some as stand-alone classes.

DISTRICT Responsibilities:
- Send in complete referral for placement (including full discipline history)
- Transportation of students
- Provide current educational and health records including immunization records
- Provide full academic program that meets all SED requirements
- Provide services of counselors
- Provide supervision
- Provide intake meeting
- Provide staff development
- Provide formal evaluation of BOCES staff
- Complete all required paperwork
- Collect data for progress monitoring
- Student Resource Officer on premises
- Administer NYS Assessments
