Centris Sync

Service Directory Search

Centris Sync allows demographic data from district's student management system to flow to Frontline IEP-NY/RTI via a nightly download, eliminating the need for duplicate data entry.

Annual licensing is now includes Centris sync as part of the Frontline IEP bundle.

Details Requirements Responsibilities Service Level Agreement

Demographic data integration allows school districts to streamline operations through more efficient information management and increased data accuracy.

Desktop/Laptop/Compouter (PC)

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10.
  • Hardware: 
    • 2 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    • 2 gigabyte (GB) RAM minimum (4 GB RAM or more recommended)
  • Other Software:
    • Microsoft Word 2007 or higher to generate and print letters.
    • Acrobat Reader XI or higher to read PDF files.
  • Browser:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0 or higher (128-bit Encryption support required)
    • Google Chrome Version 69.0 or higher

Macintosh (Mac)

  • Operating System OS X 10.11 or higher

Considerations

  • “Save Password” features should be disabled in the browser.
  • Web TCP port 80 and 443 is required to be open for general web and secured SSL connections from client workstations.
  • SFTP Port 22 and FTPS ports 989, 990 and 991 are required for secure data transfers between district-hosted systems (student information system, data warehouse, etc.) and Frontline Education products.
  • Browser history settings should be set to check for newer versions of stored pages on every visit.
  • Pop-up Blockers must be turned off.
  • Assess the effects of any Content Filtering devices on the speed of the connection.
  • Assess the Internet bandwidth available for additional usage during peak times.
  • Assess the effects of a Proxy Server on access and speed of the connection.
  • Recommended display/screen resolution should be at least 1024 X 768 pixels.
  • If using an IE browser, do not turn on compatibility view.
  • Cookies must be allowed.
  • Internet Explorer within Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 must be launched from the Desktop. Integrated Internet. Explorer in Metro is not supported.

In order to use any Frontline Education application, district devices

District agrees to:

1. Adhere to appropriate data entry methods into application in accordance with Centris Sync requirements and training to facilitate accurate data synchronization. 2. Designate a Centris Sync Coordinator and provide appropriate information to RIC. 3. Assign the personnel to be trained in the use of managing data via Centris Sync, with appropriate authorization for security access to the system data for all such staff, if needed. 4. Facilitate administrative personnel, including the special education administrator, participation in developing the district implementation plan for Centris Sync and communicate this plan to their district clerical and professional staff. 5. Implementation plan should include goals for utilization of the system, staff responsibilities, and timelines. RIC personnel may provide sample plans and suggested guidelines as needed. 6. Conduct data validation immediately after initial implementation and on an ongoing basis. 7. Inform WNYRIC of data synchronization issues as soon as possible. 8. Administrative staff should determine methods for required student information to be entered into the SMS System if necessary. 9. Administrative staff should have a working knowledge of Centris Sync in order to manage use of the system by their department.

WNYRIC agrees to:

1. Provide district with best practice to ensure accurate data in source SMS prior to implementation. 2. Liaison with vendors with ensure correct import and export file format. 3. Conduct Centris Sync testing before implementation and address issues with vendor or district, as appropriate. 4. Provide appropriate documentation to the district, as well as providing updates in a timely manner after receiving the updates from Centris Group. 5. Maintains strict confidentiality while performing duties for this service. 6. Backup of all data is the responsibility of WNYRIC. 7. WNYRIC will train district in troubleshooting Centris Sync issues. 8. Offer Service Desk services (1-800-872-0780) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.

Staff follows best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.

During all other hours and holidays, a caller will receive important information regarding coverage.
