Comprehensive Managed IT Service
This service encompasses all of the key components which the WNYRIC can provide the districts we serve today but in a standard and consistent manner. A Comprehensive Managed IT Service allows for common and repeatable tasks to be completed by those who can be trained and monitored, and utilizing the latest technology automation tools, as necessary. The comprehensive service includes the individual components under this service; procurement services, desktop client support (end user technical support), network consulting management and planning plus management and administration.
Cost is based on number of workstations in the district.

The WNYRIC Technical Team is made up of highly trained network engineers who will assist school district's technology department. Their assistance will be provided in setting strategic technology objectives; as these network engineers will be attending and participating in school district technology planning meetings. These engineers will act as consultants in planning and fulfilling the administrative and management needs and goals set forth by the local school district. These costs do NOT include vendor costs of the application or vendor maintenance costs to support the following:
- Procurement - volume price purchasing, hardware configuration and tracking, asset management
- VoIP support - adds, moves and changes
- WAN technical support - Above and beyond the Mandatory Network Equipment Support and Shared Telecom Fee.
- Email application support.
- First Level Service Desk Access by WNYRIC Hosted Service Desk Staff.
- Content Filtering of desktops.
The local school district must provide a team leader or point person who can be a decision maker and who communicate effectively with all necessary parties.
The school district must have regularly scheduled internal technology meetings with local teachers, staff and administrators.

Provide feedback to RIC for evaluation purposes.
The WNYRIC staff will work individually with requesting districts to determine the most effective implementation for this service.
Provide qualified/responsible personnel to perform needed functions of daily technical activities.
Provide necessary training for WNYRIC personnel to keep current with new technology.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research from Gartner and Info Tech that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and piloting on the WNYRIC Network in the areas of; security, infrastructure engineering and design, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity, effective monitoring and pro-active analysis customized for the K-12 educational environment. By following these principles we are able to be a District advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
