Network Consulting Management and Planning
This level provides network consulting, management and planning in support of major district projects and/or ongoing network growth and development. This is a high-level consulting service that supports the district's strategic network objectives, encompassing local district needs and wide area network considerations while ensuring compatibility with the WNYRIC network as applicable. The service may include consulting with other agencies employed by the district as needed.
Work with district leaders, teachers, and others to help implement and follow through on identified initiatives in the district technology plan
Assist with data file manipulations including imports/exports, file formats & layouts for various systems.
Coordinates activities of outside vendors, consultants and trainers along with directing the installation, customization, and maintenance of approved vendor supplied software for LAN operations.
Help coordinate and follow through with district specified hardware/software purchase and installation, maintenance and technical support.
Follow through on the scheduling and preparation for identified staff development.
Assist the district in compiling Infrastructure needs for the technology budget.
Be a part of the district technology steering committee; facilitating and developing the agenda for consideration by district leadership.
Work with other members of district technology team to complete projects, providing technical support to IT Staff for more complex problems.
Coordinates the monitoring and adjustments of LAN systems for optimal performance.
Designs, develops, supports and implements LAN's and their related operating systems.
Coordinate with the WNYRIC Senior WAN Specialist to maintain optimal network performance.
The local school district must provide a team leader or point person who can be a decision maker and who communicate effectively with all necessary parties.
The school district must have regularly scheduled internal technology meetings with local teachers, staff and administrators.

Provide feedback to RIC for evaluation purposes.
The WNYRIC staff will work individually with requesting districts to determine the most effective implementation for this service.
Provide qualified/responsible personnel to perform needed functions of daily technical activities.
Provide necessary training for WNYRIC personnel to keep current with new technology.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms. Staff follow best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.
