Code of Conduct Review
With this service, Erie 1 BOCES Policy Services will assist the district with updating its Code of Conduct to reflect current law, regulation and district practice. The cost covers up to eight hours of Erie 1 BOCES facilitation and preparation time. Additional facilitation/preparation time will be billed at $50 per hour.
The district will provide Erie 1 BOCES Policy Services staff with current contact information (the full names and titles, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses) of up to three designated district officials who will be involved in the Code of Conduct review. The district will provide Policy Services staff with access to the current Code of Conduct. The district will designate a Code of Conduct review committee, who will commit to the full participation in this process. The committee will meet for a designated number of sessions and offer appropriate participation feedback during the review of the Code of Conduct. The district will also reserve appropriate meeting space at a time suitable for both the staff involved and the assigned policy coordinator.
Policy Services will provide a policy coordinator to help facilitate the review of the district's current Code of Conduct. The coordinator will review the district's current Code of Conduct and make suggestions for revisions based on changes in law and regulation. The policy coordinator may also make suggested revisions related to areas of significance for the district based on current district practice and culture (for example, the use of electronic equipment by students). As needed, the policy coordinator will help facilitate the discussion and review process, track the revisions, and provide drafts for subsequent meetings. After the review process is complete, an electronic copy of the Word version of the updated Code of Conduct will be emailed to the district. A limited number of paper copies, CDs, and/or flash drives may also be provided as requested/needed.
