Physical Therapy FTE Equivalents for District-Enrolled Students
This service provides physical therapy staff on an FTE basis to serve students in district-operated programs.
This is an alternative to purchasing physical therapy services per session. This service includes therapeutic exercises to develop strength, endurance, range of motion and flexibility. Therapist provides consultation with the educational team, training of support staff on back care, lifting and transfers. Therapist provides carry over activities for the classroom and home.
- Submit required paperwork for FTE service
- Provide a caseload for the therapist
- Assign a work space for the therapist
- Provide relevant information
- Provide required district forms
- Provide current script
BOCES Responsibilities:
- Assign a FTE of a physical therapist
- Provide services per the IEP
- Complete all paperwork required by Medicaid
- Provide supervision
- Perform formal evaluation of BOCES staff
- Provide staff development
- Participate in Annual Review meeting
- Provide quarterly updates on student progress
- Collect data for progress monitoring
