NY Learns
NYLearns.org was developed in response to the profound need to assist teachers in understanding and applying a standards-based approach to teaching and learning - and in response to the need to deliver resources to teachers in ways that make learning standards meaningful and manageable. The tool provided in NY Learns include electronic portfolios, teacher Web page builder, a curriculum mapping tool, an assessment builder, and a content publishing tool.
Year 1 - This is a required prerequisite to support the district's chosen curriculum mapping resource. It includes three days of training. Subsequent Years - This service to support the district's chosen curriculum mapping resource includes one day of training for administrators and cabinet members. Updates and changes to the resource will be covered. Please refer to service code 550.063 for full service details
- Develop, adopt, and implement a district technology integration plan
- Plan staff development sessions with the WNYRIC staff developer and require attendance by appropriate staff
- Comply with copyright agreements
- Provide Erie 1 BOCES with the name and telephone number of a district contact person and all information as required by vendor.
- Maintain the local area network
- Notify WNYRIC contact at least 90 days prior to renewal date if district is dropping this service.
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
Staff follow best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.
