Athletic Handbook
We’ll help your district articulate and convey the goals and expectations of your athletic programs. By delineating the key obligations in administering a district’s athletic program, we’ll save you time and ensure your compliance. This handbook provides athletic directors, coaches and physical education teachers practical information regarding relevant district policies, procedures, positions, and expectations.
Topics addressed in the handbook include, but are not necessarily limited to: student-athlete eligibility; bullying, harassment, hazing, and other civil rights issues; district expectations for student-athletes, parents, coaches, and spectators; safety and student-athlete medical issues; and transportation. Multiple copies (hard copies and/or CDs) of the handbook will be provided to the district once it is completed.
The district will provide Erie 1 BOCES Policy Services staff with current contact information (the full names and titles, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses) of designated district officials who will be involved in the development of this handbook. The district will also supply any previous handbooks and/or other requested information to facilitate the development of the Athletic Handbook.
Policy Services staff will work with district staff to create a draft of the Athletic Handbook and send it to the designated district official(s) for review and revisions (as needed). After the district has approved the final draft of the Athletic Handbook, Policy Services will provide the agreed upon number of paper copies, as well as CDs of the final handbook.
